The week after Christmas is typically a slow news week for movie news, but occasionally something cool gets mentioned, and this definitely falls into that category. In a recent interview forJames Cameron’s AVATAR with MTV, stunning actress Zoe Saldana dropped a bit of news about the next STAR TREK movie, stating:
“I spoke to J.J. and Bryan Burk, his producing partner at Bad Robot, and they are still in the middle of building the script with Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, and we’ll probably be going into pre-production around this time next year.”
This most likely puts the release date at Summer 2012. I mean look, we all knew they were going to make another one, but this is perhaps the first confirmation that it is indeed in motion, and hey, that’s something. The question remains, what exactly will the plot of the second J.J. Abrams outing be? Khan? Harry Mudd? We’ll let you know as soon as we do!
